For Christmas 2008, I persuaded my boss to buy beehives for impoverished families through Heifer International, on behalf of our clients. Bees are tiny insects that, although they seem inconsequential, are absolutely vital for the continuance of our planet. So to reflect this idea of how something small can make a huge difference, I designed a small twelve-page booklet that folded out into a large poster--the small becomes big. In addition to the book/poster, we gave our clients fresh honey from Jubilee Honey, whose owner is related to one of our designers.
To my surprise, my boss decided to buy ten beehives a month for the year 2009. That makes me feel pretty good.
